Parking Locations

Groton offers many sites for Park and Ride.

Butterfield parking lot is on US 302 about 6 miles West of Upper Valley Grill on your right.   Three Groomers turn in this parking lot, so you have access to Topsham, Barre and Groton trails.

New Discovery parking lot is located on Groton State Forest highway 232. Just above the Upper Valley Grill is the US Jct. 302 and 232.  Go about 11 miles on highway 232, New Discovery Parking lot will be on your left.  This parking lot puts you right onto snowmobile route 2 trail.

You may park at the Upper Valley Grill on US 302.  This puts you right onto snowmobile trail 302.  The Grill and General Store provides the snowmobiler with food and gas seven days a week.  Please go into the Grill and ask where you should park, so you do not interfere with business.  If all parking is full, the Grill owner, Bill Kane will direct you to a couple of other parking lots.

There is parking at the ballfield in So. Ryegate.  The ballfield is on your left just pass the caution light when heading West from I-91 on US 302.  Getting onto snowmobile route 5 trail is a little tricky.  You have to travel next to US 302 for a short distance, turn left up the town dirt road and follow signs.  It is best to wait until there is sufficient snow to travel the dirt road.  There is also a General Store in So. Ryegate for gas and food.

The Buckaroos of 302 hope you enjoy snowmobiling in our area whether it is a short ride or a long ride we try to sign and groom our trails for your enjoyment.  We hope you will come back soon and often.  Please always respect all the landowners that share their land with us.

The Buckaroos of 302 is a non profit Snowmobile Club promoting the sport in the Northeast Kingdom. We are 8 miles off I-91, west on US 302 in Groton Vermont, near and in Groton State Forest. We have miles of beautifully groomed trails connecting to anywhere in VT, NH, NY and even Canada. Come see and ride with us!! Remember, purchase your TMA where you ride.
