March 19th Thursday We did get rain showers yesterday. The temperature through Sunday will be warm
with sunny skies. If you wanted to take that last ride this week-end. Unload at Butterfield parking lot and ride
in the high ground. The snow is very thin in the field across from the Upper Valley Grill. The dirt patch's
are growing. There is no snow in the future forecast. It has been a great season and the Buckaroos of 302 want
to thank everyone that joined our club. We appreciate the support and all your comments telling us how you have enjoyed
your ride. If we happen to get a snow storm. We will do a trail report. It is ok to call me at 802-584-3630
to check on the trails. Happy Trails and can not wait till next year.
March 16 Monday: When the temperature dropped last night Buzzy fired up the Sur Trac and groomed trail rt. 302
out in the "Gore" and the "Loop" trail rt. 302 C. At 3 AM Carl climbed into the Sur Trac and
started grooming over the hill to CA 5 and down onto the RR bed. Carl will groom down to the Upper Valley Grill,
the snow is very thin in the field across from Upper Valley Grill. Carl will come back to CA 4 Ricker Pond and groom
up trail rt. 232 to CA 18. There he will groom up the hill on trail rt. 232 and go to Choates pasture where he will
turn around. It has been too warm to groom over Hooker Mt. and we do not want to put the Sur Trac in the fields before
US Hwy. RT. 2. Carl will come back to CA 18 and groom down trail rt. 2 to CA 12 onto RR bed and back to CA 7 up to CA
5 on Trail rt. 302A and back to CA 10. It is suppose to reach the 50's today and Tuesday. Wednesday possible
rain. We hate to give up the snowmobile season but I guess it is coming. It is ok to call us for trail conditions.
802-584-3630.
March 13th Friday: We have groomed all of the Buckaroos trail system. Thursday Buzzy groomed down to Ryegate
and up to the "Pitstop" came back to RR bed and groomed to US Hwy RT. 2 in Cabot. Got back to CA 10 at 6PM.
Dave got in the Sur Trac and groomed the "Gore" trail rt. 302 and and "Loop" trail rt. 302C. Groomed
trail rt. 2004 arriving back to CA 10 at 12:05AM. Buzzy reports that all of Buckaroos trail system are in
good condition. The only place you will find dirt or ice is going through Groton Village on the RR bed. Trail
is in the road for a short distance. The next 3 days are going to be sunny and temperatures as follows: Friday
30/12 Sat. 41/12 Sun. 42/22. We will groom as much as time and weather allows on Sat. night.
March 12th Thursday: It is 14 degrees at 10 AM here at Jct. CA 10. There is a hard crust.
Buster and I can walk on the crust. Buzzy fired up the Sur Trac and left at 8:30 this AM. He will groom over the
hill to CA 5 and down onto the RR bed at CA 6 on trail rt. 302. The plan is that he will groom down trail rt. 302 pass
the Upper Valley Grill, through Groton Village and down to Ryegate at CA 1 where he will turn up trail rt. 5 and groom to
the Pitstop. There he will turn around and come back to CA 1 and groom back to Ricker Pond CA 4. At this point
there maybe a change in drivers. Dave is on his way from his home in Mass. to his home here in Groton. At
some point Dave will take over the drivers seat and groom up trail rt. 232 to CA 18 and to US Hwy RT. 2 where he will turn
and come back to CA 18 and Lanesboro CA 12 down the RR bed to CA 7 Up to CA 5 and back to CA 10. I will have a better
idea of trail conditions after the drivers get back home. But I'm sure high elevations have plenty of snow but you
may have to be cautious in lower elevations. Always be alert, you may meet the Sur Trac or ice or dirt.
March 10th Tuesday: Today Buzzy will groom the "Gore" he will leave CA 10 about 8:30 AM and groom
trail rt. 302 to CA 9 OE 75 turn up the "loop" trail on trail rt. 302 C groom around to OE 78 down to the "Y"
at OE 76 up to Butterfield Parking lot, turn around and come back to OE 76 up to OE 75 and turn up the "loop" trail
again to groom the "loop" for the second time. Come back to OE 78 down to the "Y" and back to OE
75 and CA 9. There he will turn down trail rt. 2004 and groom to CA 10. If the snow is not too sticky in the afternoon.
Either Buzzy or Carl will groom down trail rt. 302 to Ryegate and up trail rt. 5 to the "Pitstop". They are
predicting rain on Wed. and dropping back cold on Thur. and Fri. We will just have to wait to see what we get here
in Groton. The Buckaroos trail system is holding up good, no water on the trail and trails are mostly snow covered.
You will find dirt in just a few spots where the trail has logging or a short distance of plowed road.
March 9th Monday: It was a warm week-end and the temperatures too high to groom. The Buckaroos trail system
is holding up good. It was 28 degrees this AM and snowing. Buzzy fired up the Sur Trac and headed out about 8
PM. Buzzy groomed over the hill to CA 5 down onto the RR bed and up to CA 12 "Lanesboro" there he turned
up trail rt. 2 to CA 18 and up the hill on trail rt. 232 to US Hwy. RT.2 where he turns around and comes back to CA 18.
Not sure whether he will come back to the RR bed at CA 12 or cross over the bridge at CA 18 and groom trail rt. 232 to Ricker
Pond. This time of year we have to watch the temperature. When it is cold enough we will be out on the trails
grooming.
March 8 Sunday: 1:30 PM the sun is shining and eating up the snow. The temperature is 40 degrees.
We could not groom Sat. night because it was too warm. We are watching the temperature for Monday. It is looking
promising. If it drops cold Buzzy will groom from CA 10 in West Groton over to the RR bed and up to Lanesboro to
CA 18 and groom to US Hwy RT.2. We will continue to groom as long as the weather cooperates. Keep in mind that
we usually have snow in this area but when you leave here you might find trails closed due to lack of snow.
Mar. 7 Saturday: At 7:30Am here at CA 10 the temperature is 36 degrees and overcast but not raining. We
could not groom Friday night because the temperature never dropped below 40 degrees. Tonight, Saturday, we will have
to wait and see what the temperature is before we fire up the Sur Trac. Buckaroos trail system is still snow covered
and in good condition. Enjoy.
Mar. 6th: Friday: First I must explain why there has been no grooming reports and the
web cam has been down this week. My DSL internet connection has been down and the my provider determined that I needed
a new box. So that is what caused the down time. This AM it is 30 degrees and occasional rain in the
air. The Grooming crew have been out grooming since early Wednesday AM. We have been over all the Buckaroos trail
system. The trail system is holding up good and still snow covered. Last night Dave Wheatly climbed into the Sur Trac
at 4:40PM and started grooming from CA 10 over the hill to CA 5 down onto the RR Bed at CA 6 up to "Lanesboro" at CA
12 onto RT. 2 to CA 18 turned down trail rt. 232 to CA 4 Ricker Pond. There he turned around and went back to CA 18.
Turned down rt. 2 and back to "Lanesboro" CA 12. Down the RR bed to CA 7 CA 6 CA 4 passed the Upper Valley
Grill and down to CA 1 in Ryegate. Turned up rt. 5 and groomed to the "pitstop" where he turned around and
came back to CA 1, CA 4 Ricker Pond , CA 6 CA 7 where he turned up trail rt. 302A to CA 5 and back to CA 10 at 3:30 this AM.
Thank you Dave you were grooming for 11 hours and 63.8 miles. You deserve to catch some sleep.
Feb. 26 Thursday Carl started grooming at 8 PM. He groomed over the hill to CA 5 down onto the RR bed at CA
6 down trail rt. 302 to CA 4 passed the Upper Valley Grill and continued through Groton Village to CA 1, There
Carl turned up trail rt. 5 and groomed to the "pitstop" there he turned around and came back to CA 1. Turned
up trail rt. 302 to CA 4 CA 6 CA 7 and groomed up to CA 12 "Lanesboro" where he turned around and came back to CA
7. There he turned up onto trail rt. 302A for the fast trail to CA 5 and over the hill getting back to home base
CA 10 at 3:25PM. At 6:45 PM Dave climbed into the Sur Trac and groomed over the hill to CA 5 down onto the RR bed
at CA 6 down to Ricker Pond CA 4 where he turned up trail rt. 232 and groomed to CA 18. There he turned down trail rt.
2 and groomed down to CA 12 "Lanesboro". There he turned down trail rt. C 2/302 to CA 7 and turned up trail
rt. 302 A to CA 5. Over the hill to CA 10 and groomed out trail rt. 302 to CA 9 down to OE 75 where he turned up trail
rt. 302C and groomed around to OE 78. Groomed down to the "y" at OE 76 and up to Butterfield parking lot where
he turned around and came back to OE 76 and trail rt. 302 up to CA 75. At CA 9 he turned down trail rt. 2004 to come
back to home base CA 10 at 3:27 AM. We thank Carl and Dave for their hours in the groomer. This completes the
Buckaroos trail system. Should be all set and hope we do not get too much rain and warm temperatures.
Feb. 25th Wednesday at 1:50 AM Dave Wheatly fired up the Sur Trac and groomed over the hill to CA 5 down trail
rt. 302A to the RR bed at CA 7 down to CA 6 at CA 4 Dave turned up trail rt. 232 made his way through the logging operation
and mid way Dave groomed the loop, continued on to CA 18. There Dave turned around. Groomed the loop again on
his way back to CA 4. There Dave turned down the RR bed on trail rt. 302 to Upper Valley Grill. There he went
in for breakfast. Back in the Sur Trac and groomed back to CA 4 CA 6 CA 5 arriving back at CA 10 at 9:14 AM. We
now have all the Buckaroos of 302 trail system open after last Sundays storm. Enjoy but remember it will take another
trip of grooming to get a hard packed trail back.
Feb. 24th Tuesday: Today Buzzy will fire the Sur Trac up and groom over the hill to CA 5 and down onto the RR
bed at CA 7. There he will turn up the RR bed to CA 12 "Lanesboro" there he will turn up trail rt. 2 and groom
to CA 18. At this point Buzzy will have to make a decision whether or not to try to groom up Hooker Mt. There
is 20" of new snow in that section of trail. We may have to wait a couple of days for the snow to settle down before
we try to climb up Hooker Mt. If he decides to wait than he will turn right and cross the bridge at CA 18 onto trail
rt. 232. Midway he will groom the loop and come back onto trail rt. 232. There is a logging operation on this
trail. After the logging Buzzy will groom down to CA 4 at Ricker Pond and come back to CA 6 up to CA 5 and back to CA
10. I repeat all we have done is open the trails. They are not hard packed
Feb. 23 Monday 7 AM In West Groton at Jct. CA 10 we received 15" of new snow. That
is the total of snow that fell on Sunday and Sunday night. There is 32" on the snow stake down at Stormy's
barn. Be cautious do not ride alone. If we got 15" here you can bet that the "Gore"
and "loop" trail got at least 2 feet. It will be slow going with the Sur Trac. Asap we will drag all
the trails in Buckaroos trail system. When we have the trails open I will post another report Feb.
23rd Monday: The Sur Trac left CA 10 in West Groton with Buzzy in the drivers seat. Not sure if he was going
to be able to drag through the deep snow. Buzzy headed for the RR bed. From CA 5 Buzzy groomed trail rt.
302A down to CA 7 on the RR bed turned down the RR bed to CA 4 Ricker Pond. Buzzy groomed down past the Upper Valley
Grill on trail rt. 302 to CA 1. Everything seemed to be going ok so he turned up trail rt. 5 and groomed to the Pitstop
where he turned around and came back to CA 1 groomed through Groton Village. Stopped for lunch at Upper Valley
Grill. After lunch Buzzy continued to groom trail rt. 302 to CA 4 CA6. At CA 6 he turned up to CA 5 back
to CA 10 CA 9 OE 75 there he turned up trail rt. 302C and groomed the "loop" trail coming back onto trail rt. 302
at OE 78 down to the "Y" and groomed up to Butterfield Parking lot. There he turned around and came back to
the "Y" and groomed up to OE 75. At CA 9 Buzzy turned down onto trail rt. 2004 and back to home at CA 10.
Even though I have used the word "groomed" it does not mean that the trails are hard packed. They are not.
All the Sur Trac was doing is opening up the trails. Will take time to get the hard packed trail back.
Feb. 20th Friday. Dave will climb into the Sur Trac around 3:30 Friday AM. Dave will groom over
the hill to CA 5 and down onto the RR bed at either CA 6 or CA 7 and groom up to CA 12 where he will turn up trail rt. 2 and
groom to CA 18 and up the hill on trail rt. 232 to US Hwy. RT 2 where he will turn around and come back to CA 18.
Dave will turn left and cross the bridge onto trail rt. 232 and groom down to Ricker Pond at Jct. CA 4. Be alert for
the logging operation on trail rt. 232. At Ricker Pond CA 4 Carl Emerson or Buzzy will meet Dave sometime
mid morning and they will swap drivers. Carl or Buzzy will groom down the RR bed on trail rt. 302 past the Upper Valley
Grill, pass through Groton Village to CA 1. There he will groom up trail rt. 5 to the "Pitstop" where he will
turn around and come back to CA 1, CA 4, turn off the RR bed at either CA 6 or CA 7 and groom back to CA 5 and over the
hill to CA 10. It will be close to dark and he will park the Sur Trac. When these routes are complete
our trails will be all groomed and in good condition after the storm. We will do our usual Sat. night grooming.
That is we get over as much of the trail system as we can for the Sunday riders. Happy Trails.

up this Am and started grooming out trail rt. 302 from Jct. CA 10 to CA 9 OE 75 turned up trail rt. 302 C groomed around

to CA 10 where he shut the Sur trac down for the rest of the night. There is suppose to be a wet snow storm coming in
late on Wed. We might get 6 inches. We need this snow storm to put more snow in the trails. Our trails
are in good condition but watch for icy spots.

snow started to stick in the groom when he left the RR bed. When Dave groomed by "Stormy"s barn it was 42
degrees on the temperature gauge. It was warmer in the higher elevation than down low. It was just too warm to
groom the "Gore" and "Loop trail rt. 302C" So Dave parked the Sur Trac at 11:46PM.

grooming equipment to go by.
Jan. 31 At 4PM yesterday Dave Wheatly met Buzzy and the Sur Trac at Ricker Pond Jct. CA 4. Dave took
over the drivers seat and Buzzy came home for supper. Because of the deep snow Buzzy had groomed back the same
trail route that he had groomed going to US Hwy RT. 2. So Dave needed to groomed up trail rt. 232 going to CA 18 where
he turned around to groom back to Jct. CA 4. On the return trip Dave groomed the lower loop on trail rt. 232.

can groom in one night. Thank you Dave for your dedication to the trails.
Jan. 30 Buzzy has the Sur Trac all warmed up and he is leaving Jct. CA 10 here in West Groton at 9:30AM.
Buzzy will groom over the hill to CA 5 on trail rt. 302 down to CA 6 where he will turn up the RR bed to CA 7 CA 12.
There Buzzy will turn up trail rt. 2 to CA 18 and continue on trail rt. 2 & 232 over Hooker Mt. and down to US Hwy RT.
2 where he will turn around and come back to CA 18. There he will cross the bridge on trail rt. 232 and groom down to
Ricker Pond at CA 4. By the time he gets there it will be late and Buzzy will turn the Sur Trac up the RR bed to CA
6. There he will turn off the RR bed and groom back to CA 5 and CA 10. When the Sur Trac gets home tonight we
will have been over all our trail system with the exception of the "loop" trail rt. 302C out in the gore.
We will get to that trail tomorrow. WATCH FOR THE GROOMER.
Jan. 29th Carl climbed into the Sur Trac at 7:21PM to start breaking out the "gore" trail rt. 302.
Carl left CA 10 went to CA 9 OE 75 OE 76 Up trail rt. 302B to Butterfield parking lot where he turned around and came back
to OE 76. It was late evening and the snow was very deep. Carl made the decision not to groom the "loop"
trail rt. 302C. We will go back in the daylight and after a few snowmobiles had tread the snow down. Carl came
back to OE 75 CA 9 and turned down trail rt. 2004 and back to CA 10 where he parked the groom for the rest of the night.
Jan. 29th Buzzy got the 12+ inches of snow off the Sur Trac, warmed up and left Jct. CA 10 at noon.
Buzzy groomed over the hill to CA 5 CA 7 down to CA 6 CA 4 pass the Upper Valley Grill and Groton Village to CA 1. Where
he turned up trail rt. 5 to the "pitstop" there he turned around and came back to CA 1 CA 4 CA 6 CA 7 up trail rt.
302A to CA 5 and back to CA 10.
Jan. 28th Here at Jct. CA 10 on trail rt. 302 in West Groton we received 12+" of new snow.
I am sure that the "loop" and "Gore" trails received more. The Sur Trac will spend the next
two days opening and grooming the Buckaroos of 302 trail system. I will take this space and time to explain where our
grooming contract ends and we turn around. We groom trail rt. 232 from Ricker Pond through to US Hwy. RT 2 in Cabot
there we turn around. On rt. 5 we turn around at what we have nicknamed "The Pitstop" because there used to
be a back house in this gravel pit. This "pitstop" is located 2.4 miles from Jct. CA 1 on trail rt. 5.
On trail rt. 302 after grooming the "Gore" and "Loop" we turn around in the Butterfield parking
lot. We have a 58 mile contract that we groom with the Sur Trac and four drivers. Be patient. Be cautious
there will be a lot of snow dust. This added snow will extend our snowmobiling season.
Jan. 27th There is a snow storm coming, suppose to start tonight. We should get anywhere from 4 to 8 inches.
Buzzy warmed the Sur Trac up and left CA 10 at 9AM. This has been a great winter. A little chilly but that keeps
the trails hard. Keep in mind that the studs on your track are for a safe ride when you in counter ice. Not to
see how fast you can take off on a hard packed snow trail. Buzzy, Carl and Dave enjoy grooming and put in long hours
to keep the trails hard and flat. Enjoy with common sense. Lets not be the one to cause an accident. Buzzy
will groom to the RR bed and up to CA 12 "Lanesboro" where he will turn up trail rt. 2 and groom up to CA 18 and
continue on trail rt. 232 & 2 to US Hwy RT. 2 where he will turn around and groom back to CA 18. There Buzzy will
turn and cross the bridge and continue down trail rt. 232 to CA 4. At that point Buzzy will check the time and decide
whether or not to groom down to the Upper Valley Grill. We may have to wait until Wed. to groom down trail rt. 302 to
Upper Valley Grill down to CA 1 and up trail rt. 5 to the "Pitstop". Will see what the weather does. Jan. 26th Carl climbed into the Sur Trac this chilly AM. Carl will groom the "Gore" area.
Starting at CA 10 on trail rt. 302 headed towards CA 9. At OE 75 Carl will turn the Sur Trac up the hill on trail rt.
302C to groom the "loop" around to OE 78. There Carl will turn down trail rt. 302 to Jct. OE 76 up the hill
to Butterfield Parking Lot where he will turn around and come back to OE 76. There the Sur Trac will groom to OE 75
and turn up trail rt. 302C to groom the "loop" for the second time. Arriving back at OE 78. down to OE 76
back up to OE 75 CA 9 CA 10. There Carl will groom trail rt. 2004 back to CA 9 where he will turn around and come back
over trail rt. 2004 for the second time. Carl started at 9:30AM and got done at 3:22PM. Thanks Carl. Always
be on the look out for the Sur Trac. It is scary for the driver as well as the snowmobiler when they come upon one another.
If it happens to you, pull hard on the handle bars to the right and get off the trail. Thanks and enjoy.

Jan. 23 Buckaroos trails are all in good condition. Not so many trucks & trailers in the parking lots.

Weatherman says that it should get in the teens and 20's for the week-end. On New Years Eve the Sur Trac broke down
while grooming over the hill to the railroad bed. A couple of snowmobilers came along and helped Carl. So that
he was able to drive the Sur Trac back to home at Jct. CA 10. The next morning Buzzy drove the Sur Trac down to Matt's
garage in Groton. Buzzy put a call into Doug Wilson and Doug has the parts we need coming. Because of the
Holiday, the parts are delayed, we will not be able to do our usual Sat. night grooming. We should be up and grooming
by Monday.
Dec. 30th 7:30AM we got about 3 inches of new fluffy snow last night and it is still snowing.

snow balls. Buzzy will groom the "loop" and up to Butterfield Parking lot and back to CA Jct. 10.

are all anxious to plan our trips and enjoy the great snowmobile season that is due us. Please be patient and call 802-584-3630
if you are traveling a long distance and want last minute assurance.

December 20, 2008 at 6 AM There is at least a foot of new snow on
the ground. The Sur Trac started grooming on Wed. Dec. 17th. We got about 3 miles from Jct. CA 10 on trail route
302 going west to the "Gore" when a tire went down. Crippled the Sur Trac at about noon. With
the help for Matt Puffer, Bill Cassidy, Dean Edson, Carl Emerson and Buzzy they removed the tire. Used snowmobiles to
get it out of the woods and down to Bill's Garage. Buzzy went and bought a new tube. Back to garage where
Matt and Bill installed the tube. Everyone pitched in and got the tire back to the Sur Trac in the "Gore".
Installed the tire back onto the Sur Trac and Buzzy was up and going again by 1 PM on Friday. Keep in mind that
the days are short, it does not get daylight until 7AM and is dark by 4:30 PM. We needed a generator and other equipment
at the site. We have such a great group of guys that are willing to come out in the deep snow and pull on wrench's.
Dean Edson has a work sled that pulls a dog sled enabling a man to stand on the ski's and tool's in the sled.
Worked great to get from parking lot to job site. Buzzy & I are very humble and thank these guys very much.
If it was not for your assistance we would not be able to get the job done as quickly or efficiently. On Friday Buzzy
finished packing and grooming the "Gore" and "Loop" trail rt. 302C. Grooming route was from
Jct. CA 10 on trail rt. 302 to Jct. CA 9, OE 75, OE 78, Jct. OE 76 up to Butterfield Parking lot on trail rt. 302B Sur Trac turned around and back to Jct. OE 76 up to Jct. CA 9 where Buzzy turned down trail route 2004 and groomed back to Jct.

trails and be on the look-out for the Groomers.
December 16, 2008 Dec. 15th at 10AM: There is at least 6 inches of snow on the ground here at Jct. CA 10 on snowmobile
route 302, home of the Sur Trac grooming equipment. Sur Trac has been serviced and the drag has new cutting edges.
The temperature is 35 degrees. It is suppose to be windy today and than drop cold the rest of
the week. Today Buzzy will open all the gates on Buckaroos trail system. VAST trails open tomorrow
Dec. 16th. Buckaroo volunteers have been cutting over head limbs. Presently there is ice on the trees
but probably the warm wind will take that off. Buckaroo volunteers will check the trails for downed trees and limbs.
But first time out be very carefully. Happy Trails and we are looking forward to a great snowmobile season.
